Replacement of Cotton Fabrics in Korah Sleeping Mats Edges to PP Nonwoven Fabrics

During 1996, PP spun bond Nonwoven was introduced in South Indian market. We were fond of developing new applications for Nonwoven. We found the problem in Korah mats edges getting spoiled easily and during rainy seasons it gets wet and spoiling korah mats with fungus growth. So we decided to split the 63” width Nonwoven rolls into 1.50” to 2.0” inch width rolls and stitched along the edges of the Korah mats. PP nonwoven material will not absorb the water and it will repel the water in higher Gsms, and it was the solution for Korah mats. This application provided us around 60 MT market per month in South and Central India alone.
